ERC Presents Doing Business in China: Hurdling the Great Wall
Cleveland– ERC is pleased to host Doing Business in China: Hurdling the Great Wall, a special event on June 6, 2008. The event will address the questions, issues and concerns associated with doing business in China. While many organizations across Northeast Ohio are currently performing business in China, several others are just starting their journey. For many companies, doing business in China has never crossed their minds. This workshop will shed light on the challenges and benefits of taking a business overseas.
Doing Business in China will feature three speakers as well as a panel of HR executives who are experienced in China business. William Sinn of Sinn & Co. LLC will talk about “Hurdling the Great Wall”, which will feature a background on present-day China as well as challenges, success stories and reasons why U.S. companies do business in China. Yanping Wang and Joe Gross of Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP will present “The Legal Perspective”, which will feature legal considerations, expatriate considerations, and labor and employment law.
The lunch panel will consist of Ann E. Killian, Vice President of Human Resources at Ferro Corporation, Jim Kuhn, Vice President of Human Resources at Life Line Screening, and Jerry Toma, Compensation and International HR Director at Nordson Corporation. The panel will take questions and discuss the challenges and benefits of doing business in China.
Doing Business in China: Hurdling the Great Wall will be held at the ERC Workplace Center in Mayfield Village on June 6, 2008 from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30am. The registration fee for the event is $95 for ERC members and $115 for non-members and includes continental breakfast, lunch and materials.
