Supervisory Series II

Supervisory SeriesToday’s supervisors and managers deal with important responsibilities each day—improving the performance of others, resolving conflict and leading effective teams to name just a few. A breakdown in communication can cause massive losses to any organization. Through a combination of interpersonal skill-based sessions, ERC’s Supervisory Training Series addresses key areas supervisors and managers face, and how to get beyond them to build more productive and high performing workplaces.

Sesssions In This Series Include:

Session I: Time Management for Supervisors
Learning Objectives:

    • To increase awareness of attitudes towards time
    • To identify and prioritize issues that are most central in life
    • To learn to plan time by setting goals
    • To take appropriate actions to help manage time

Session II: Leading Groups Through Change
Learning Objectives:

    • To learn how we react to change
    • To explore the dynamics of change
    • To identify typical responses to change
    • To learn the phases of the change process
    • To learn characteristics and actions
    • To help yourself and others
    • To create a model for leading change
    • To introduce, lead, and sustain commitment

Session III: Negotiation Skills for Supervisors
Learning Objectives:

    • To identify major factors that influence negotiations
    • To distinguish between positions and interests
    • To separate people from problems
    • To prepare for successful negotiations
    • To elicit and propose alternatives
    • To use collaborative negotiating tactics

Session IV: Behavioral Interviewing Skills
Learning Objectives:

    • To identify the importance of using behavioral interviewing techniques
    • To begin using appropriate behavioral interview questions
    • To provide participants with the necessary tools for hiring talented candidates
    • To understand how to properly prepare for an interview
    • To determine how to make an appropriate employee selection
    • To understand the right and wrong questions to ask that can have legal consequences
