Preparing Corporate Tax Returns for New Staff and Para-Professionals*

Description

New staff accountants, data processing employees, para-professionals and bookkeepers will benefit from this training in preparing a complicated federal corporate income tax return. Hands-on session is a practical guide to filling out most tax forms, with extra emphasis on form changes due to new tax law. New staff will receive coverage of tax areas affecting all business entities which they may carry to other business entity returns. Other topics include the sale of assets used in any trade or business (Form 4797), depreciation (Form 4562), deductible verses non-deductible items and the basics of uniform capitalization.

Objective:

Educate new staff and paraprofessionals on preparing complex federal corporate income tax returns.


This course qualifies for 8 Continuing Professional Education credits in Ohio.

If you notify the Society of your cancellation up to 14 days prior to the course date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel or transfer 13 days or less of the course date, you will receive a full refund less $50, unless otherwise stated. If you cancel on the program date or do not show up for the program, you will receive no refund. If the Society should cancel the program, the full course fee will be refunded to you. If you paid by check, the refund will be in the form of a credit which can be applied to another course. If you paid with a credit card, the refund will be credited to that card. Late fees and/or nonmember fees may apply to transfers and substitutions.



ERC Refund Policy
Pre-registration and payment is required for all ERC programs. If a guest has registered and is unable to attend the program, they will be instructed to notify ERC’s training hotline immediately at 440/947-1300, training@ercnet.org. Based on the circumstances, one of the following accommodations will be made:

  1. We will invite them to send a substitute attendee. OR
  2. We will hold and apply their program payment to another ERC training program of their interest (or a later date for this program.) OR
  3. If neither of these accommodations will work, ERC will issue the guest a refund minus 15% administrative fee.
