Obama Aims to Boost Paid Family Leave Programs

President Barack Obama's budget proposal for fiscal year 2011 includes $50 million in grants for states that choose to launch paid family leave programs.

Obama wants to create a fund within the Department of Labor to help states launch paid-leave programs cover their start-up costs. Obama argues that while the Family and Medical Leave Act allows workers to take job-protected time off unpaid, many families can't afford to lose that paycheck. continue reading...

2010 ERC Salary & Wage Surveys

The 2010 ERC Salary Survey collects annual salary data from only Northeast Ohio employers on 251 positions spanning jobs relevant to all industries and types of organizations including accounting, finance, administration, customer service, sales, engineering, human resources, IT, maintenance, marketing, production, purchasing/distribution, safety, science, and research and development.

The 2010 ERC Wage Survey collects annual wage data from only Northeast Ohio employers on 99 positions spanning jobs including maintenance, production, warehouse, distribution, and transportation. Many new manufacturing and distribution positions were added to this survey this year.  

To participate in these surveys, please visit www.ercnet.org/surveycenter and register as a new user (even if you have participated in previous years). Participating ERC members will receive the results of the surveys for no cost in May. Participating non-members will be able to receive the results of the surveys at a significant discount. Please contact ktalarico@ercnet.org with any questions pertaining to the surveys.

National Executive Compensation Survey - Only Two Weeks to Participate!

The 2010 National Executive Compensation Survey, open until February 19th, gathers compensation, bonus/incentive, benefits, and perquisite information for 47 executive and director level positions across general, finance, human resources, engineering and manufacturing, sales and marketing, international, and non-profit functions. This is ERC’s only survey conducted on executive jobs. To participate, please click here and contact ERC for a unique username and password to complete the survey. Remember, participants receive the results for no cost when they are published in June.

For small and mid-sized organizations, in particular, this survey provides relevant and useful information provided by actual employers to benchmark many aspects of executive compensation including base pay, pay adjustments, performance incentives (short and long term), benefits, perquisites, and other executive pay practices with other peer organizations. Both national and local data will be available.

Training and Development Practices Survey

ERC is conducting a short survey on training and development practices among Northeast Ohio organizations, specifically, issues related to administering training, identifying and prioritizing employee training needs, annual training activities, evaluating training, and other employee development practices. Please click here to participate in the survey by February 26th. Participating organizations will receive a complimentary copy of the results.
